Press and Marketing is a big undertaking for small business owners; you’re already no doubt swamped with the everyday runnings of your business, so setting aside more time to create a strategy, implement practices, build press relations, and write press releases can seem impossible. Not to mention ensuring your social media efforts are up to scratch! More and more is expected of businesses; it’s tough out there, but it’s important to be heard.

When your business has something to shout about, it’s exciting; you’re excited, your team are excited, you want the world and its dog to know about it. Short of promoting your news by shouting from the rooftop, how else can you get noticed? The answer is getting the press involved.

Luckily for us, press marketing is no longer limited to a newspaper. The realm of press is far-reaching, with radio, online news forums, e-news, podcasts, social media initiatives and profiles, and community Facebook pages, all viable options. And if none of these suits you, let’s get creative! The marketing world is our oyster, why not initiate a brand new way of promoting your business and company news!

Editorial - Flossy Notes

Whether you’re looking for someone to point you in the right direction or become a part of your marketing team, I’m happy to help. Your success is my success.

Working with press marketing is more creative than it’s ever been, which means the opportunities for exposure are plenty. It’s an ever-evolving industry, so if you’re currently not embracing its potential, you could well be missing a trick. We’ve never been so marketed to and informed; if there’s something to know, it’s known. If your company is quiet on the press and marketing front, apart from your regular and loyal customers, it’s unlikely you’ll be noticed.

Press doesn’t have to be ground-breaking news. Working with Flossy Notes, you’ll soon notice your business has lots to talk about without even trying. Working in your business every day means it’s tougher to see what could be interesting to others. You live and breathe your company; sometimes, we go blind to why we’re great. Having an outside perspective can shine a light on what you do brilliantly, why you’re the right option, and what your audience may well be interested in learning.

Press success takes time; it’s about relationships, collaborations, and mutual understanding. Just because you’re invested in your business or venture doesn’t mean everyone else will be. Communities are looking for ways to improve the lives of their people, not necessarily yours. How you position yourself is important.

Your audience is inundated by news. Writing one press release and throwing it out there may well get caught by someone, somewhere, if you’re lucky. With a strategy, we can build a brand story, gathering a team of supporters ready for your next move and pleased to publicise it.

“Ellie managed to secure The Pearl Exchange interviews with ITV Westcountry, BBC Spotlight, Radio Cornwall and Pirate FM. As well as countless newspaper articles.

She worked tirelessly to get these interviews and also supplied so much knowledge and advice when it came to social media and our website design.

I cannot recommend Ellie enough! Her organisational skills and commitment to every project make her a joy to be around!!”
